Autism Society of Illinois First Responder Training Program

The Autism Society of Illinois (ASI)  is  a 501 (c) 3 ” Boots on the Ground” organization and one of the top ten Autism Society of America Affiliates.  For over 38 years, ASI’s mission has been partnering with families and communities living with Autism in Illinois by generating awareness and by providing education, training, support, and guidance as a compassionate and caring authority.

The Autism Society of Illinois is offering  First Responder Training for emergency personal. Now with 1 in 50 children being diagnosed, interacting with an individual with Autism is more than likely to occur.  All agencies need to be prepared.
Below is training that ASI provides: *All training’s will be individualized for each department*

  • Full-Day ( 5 hours)
    $800.00 for Autism 101 training
    Learn strategies to de-escalate situations using sensory exercises
    Visuals to use in the field when interacting with individuals with Autism
    Videos on interacting with individuals with Autism
    Group discussion
    Autism Awareness Stickers to give out to families
  • Half -Day (2.5 hours)
    $500.00 for Autism 101 Training
    Learn strategies to de-escalate situations using sensory exercises
    Visuals to use in the field when interacting with individuals with Autism
    Videos on interacting with individuals with Autism
    Group discussion
    Autism Awareness Stickers to give out to families
  • Roll Call (30 minutes)
    $200.00 for brief Autism 101 training
    This will occur at the beginning of shift changes and can be re-occurring training
    This training will include a group discussion on different  strategies and visuals that can be used effectively in the field
    Autism Awareness Alert Stickers to give out to families

In addition to First Responder Training, ASI will also be able to provide Sensory Kits for agencies. It is suggested  Sensory kits be placed in Emergency Vehicles as well as Emergency Stations. (Each kit will cost $50.00)

** PLEASE NOTE: The Autism Society of Illinois will travel up to 50 miles one way. Mileage is based on MapQuest from the Autism Society of Illinois to agencies location.  Any location over 50 miles is an additional $.50 per mile round trip.
