What’s New

April marks Autism Awareness Month and our annual 'Change for Autism' campaign to raise awareness and support for the Autism Society of Illinois.

What is Change for Autism?

The Autism Society of Illinois (ASI) is asking elementary, middle schools and high schools across the state to join us in raising much needed awareness and funds, to help support the families in your Illinois communities that have been touched by autism.  With early detection and intervention, we can help build a strong foundation and offer support through the lifespan.

So how can your school support autism awareness, education and outreach in your community?  By participating in ASI's exclusive

"Change for Autism!"

• Pick a week or weeks in April that your school or district will be collecting change. (Any change will be great!)
• Educate and make people aware of Autism. (Info sheets will be provided.)
• Start gathering containers for each classroom. (Milk jugs with handles work best.
• Let ASI know how many flyers and jug labels are needed for your school or district.
• Spread the word!

Schools will be recognized with a certificate and the top class will receive Autism awareness bracelets.

If you are at a school or a business and wish to support the change campaign, write to us at and we will share the campaign materials with you.
